Women World Cup : Schedule
Cricket was primarily considered a game for Male gender. Cricket as it grew became gender neutral and women cricket started to rise up. Women cricket is not upto the level of men but slowly it is rising. Many Cricket Pundits term women cricket as the next big thing in the world of sports. Women Cricket has fastrack by ICC in recent years and now they too will be having a world event year just like men from 2023 on wards.
Rise of women cricket in India took place after 2017 WC. Indian Team performed brilliant and were finalist. Since then Women cricket has picked up pace in India and now everyone is talking about it. Women Cricketers like Smriti Manadana and Jemimah Rodrigues Deepti Sharma have become household names and everyone wants know and watch the women games. The true Pioneers of Women Cricket in India has to be Mithai Raj and Jhulan Goswami. These 2 have been playing since the 2000s and are still performing and winning matches for India on a consistent basis.
Now from Next month Onwards Women World Cup is set to played in New Zealand. 10 teams will play in this World Cup. WC was originally supposed to happen in 2021 but due to many pending tours and ongoing Pandemic it was shifted to 2022 March.
The Women 's World Cup is set to begin from the 4th of March. Host New Zealand will take on West Indies in the opening match.
The tournament will be hosted in six cities -- Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Wellington. The tournament opener will be played at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga on Friday, March 4. Meanwhile, the final will be played at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on March 4 Team India, on the other hand, will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on March 6 at Bay Oval.
