New Era In English Red Ball Cricket

England Red ball cricket has been in decline. In last year, Three Lions only managed to Win 3-4 test matches in 17 test matches they played. After horrific show of England red ball team ,where they lost 4-0 in Ashes. The Entire structure including the head of cricket, the coach and captain Joe Root all under heavy criticism after a flop show by the team. 


After Ashes it was announced selector Ashley Gills and coach Chris Silverwood were sacked and Andrew Strauss was made interim head of cricket and Paul Collingwood interim coach. However Joe Root remained as the Captain and the English team went to Caribbean for the Test series. The series was drawn and yet changes were needed in the team and the structure. Now one month after Former England Rob Key was appointed as new managing director of English cricket. 


Another news breakout there the Red Ball captain Joe Root decided to quit as England captain and to continue just as a player in the team. Now after Root's resignation there were doubts around the new England Test Captain. Today itself ECB the England cricket board announced that their ace All Rounder Ben Stokes will be their new test captain. Strokes will a lot of task to cut out as a captain. His first assignment as new England Captain will be a 2 match Test Series against the current World Test Champions The Kiwis in the month of June.
