Ricky Ponting To Miss A Game Against RR
Delhi Capitals in this season has been pretty on and off. They were not performing up to the level as was expected of a Delhi team. Team was struggling in either department. But since their full foreign contingent of players is back , they have started performing pretty well.
The return of David Warner was a boon for them. The Australian international signed from just 6 cr in the auction is turning out to be their player of the season. Warner has returned back to his old and scoring fifties for them and giving them solid starts at the top.
But unfortunately Delhi Camp is never out of limelight and again they came into limelight as there was bio bubble breach and 5-6 of their entire contingent csme covid positive. Acovi outbreak has hit the delhi camp and few of their players were covid positive along with support staff. All the concerned members were isolated and the matches which were scheduled to happen in Pune were shifted to Mumbai either to Wankhede or Brabourne stadium to avoid any more travelling and such limiting the covid spread.
Now today another news came from Delhi cmap their Head coach Ricky Ponting family member who was with him travelling has been tested positive for Covid and thus Ponting being in his close contact will have to go for a 5 day self Isolation period which is mandatory according to procedure. Thus their head coach Ponting will miss today's game against Rajasthan Royals. The assistant coaches Watson and Ajit Agarkar would be in charge of the team for today's match.
Now this being the 7 th case from Delhi Camp , BCCI and IPL will certainly have to be careful and if cases increase would have to take tough calls in order to keep the tournament ongoing and also keeping in mind the safety of other participants.
