Andrew Symonds has left us
As the Sunday morning came up another sad news hit all the cricketer frantity. Andrew Symonds was reported to meet with car crash and was reported to be dead. As the day progressed Cricket Australia said Sunday that flamboyant former all-rounder Andrew Symonds had died in a car crash, adding to the sport's recent tragedies of Shane Warne and Rod Marsh. The 46-year-old was involved in a single-car collision in Townsville, Queensland, on Saturday night, having played 26 Tests and 198 one-day internationals for Australia between 1998 and 2009. According to police, emergency personnel attempted to resuscitate the driver and lone occupant, but he died as a result of his injuries after the automobile left the road and rolled.
"Andrew was a generational talent who was crucial in Australia's success in World Cups, and he has past away. For so many, he was a cult personality who was adored by his peers and fans "In a statement, Cricket Australia chairman Lachlan Henderson said.
Tributes were paid to Symonds from all over the world and especially to Australian cricket as they lost 3 of greats this year in quick succession. Also in IPL today both the matches all 4 teams involved were wearing black armbands as gesture of respect towards the departed soul.
