The Commonwealth Games in 2022

The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and nicknamed Birmingham 2022, is an international multi-sport tournament for Commonwealth members that will actually happen in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8, 2022. [1] After London in 1934 and Manchester in 2002, England hosted the Commonwealth Games for the third time in Birmingham on December 21, 2017.

The BOCCG announced on August 11, 2020 that athletes and team officials will be housed in three 'campus' villages near competition venues at the University of Birmingham, University of Warwick, and The NEC Hotel Campus.


Birmingham 2022 will take place in 15 venues across the West Midlands region, with 7 of them being in Birmingham, including the athletics stadium and marathon route. The Games are held in the National Exhibition Centre complex, which itself is located on the edge of the town in neighbouring Solihull, as well as at the NEC Arena. Coventry, Cannock Chase, Royal Leamington Spa, Sandwell, Warwick, and Wolverhampton are the other six regional hosts. The track cycling event would be played at the Lee Valley VeloPark in Stratford, East London, as the sixteenth venue.


India has consistently sent over 200 competitors to the quadrennial showpiece since the 2010 Commonwealth Games. A large Indian contingent is supposed to compete in the Commonwealth Games in 2022 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.  The qualifying and team selection processes for the Birmingham 2022 Games, which will actually occur from July 28 to August 8, are continuing.
