Tamil Nadu Premier League Begins

The league's sixth season will feature eight teams, including the reigning champions, Chepauk Super Gillies, competing for the title at four different sites across the state. There will be 28 league stage games plus four playoff stage matches in total. The matches begin at 7:15 p.m. IST, with the first match starting at 3:15 p.m. IST on the double-header day. The league stage will feature eight teams playing in a single round-robin format, with the top four teams progressing to the playoff stages after the league round is completed. The TNPL 2022 league stage matches will begin in Tirunelveli, before moving on to Dindigul, Coimbatore, and Salem.


While the season opener is held at the Indian Cement Company Grounds in Tirunelveli, the finals will be held at SNR College Cricket Ground, Coimbatore. Apart from the final, the Coimbatore venue will also play host to the Qualifier 2 after Salem hosts the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator matches at the Salem Cricket Foundation Stadium.
